Kristee Trumbo
Licensed Professional Counselor

The counseling room contains joy, laughter, tears, doubts, fears, and hopes. Clients and I greet, acknowledge, and address all of these things and more—together. I’m excited for the chance to meet people and am honored to travel with them on their journeys.

I find joy in celebrating with everyone I meet. Time together with clients does not include an interrogation of questions, rather an open space for people to share and process safely and surrounded by care. Clients and I talk about anything they want to discuss. I welcome playing games and creative expression during sessions as outlets for learning, growth, and connections. And yet, I have no expectations for how clients exist in the counseling room. Every person is welcome and supported as they get (re)acquainted with themself at this time in their life. Wonderment, curiosity, and exploration are always encouraged as we unravel the mystery of life and living.

I received my Master of Arts in Counseling from Eastern Mennonite University, and I incorporate attachment theory into all aspects of my professional life. I love adventures, the beach, and water! I’ve spent the majority of my life in the Shenandoah Valley, most recently with my dog Ace—a border collie and black lab mix. My office is filled with photographs I’ve taken during our adventures, because every photograph tells a story. I can’t wait to find out your story!
